Roger Pocock
Roger started working with his favourite model organism Caenorhabditis elegans during his DPhil studies at the University of Oxford. After completion of his doctoral studies on the transcriptional control of embryonic development in 2004 he moved to Columbia University in New York for his postdoctoral work. Here he performed groundbreaking studies in the control of neuronal development and function during stress. Roger opened his first research group at the University of Copenhagen in 2010 working on the functions of transcription factors and microRNAs in brain development and function. Roger relocated his laboratory to Monash University in January 2015 where he has helped to establish a prominent C. elegans research hub in Australia. His work has been published in leading journals including Science, PNAS, Nature Neuroscience and Current Biology.
